Meal 1: Crepes (with lemon, sugar, jam, and honey), orange juice, tea

Location: Front Porch

I had a lovely breakfast on my front porch today. I cooked crepes, brewed tea, and prepared everything inside. My roommate was happy to join me, and later on my other two housemates spent time with us outside as well. Even with two people, it was tricky to carry everything outside. I used my laptop as a kind of tray to carry the plates out and put the toppings in a bag. We enjoyed the sound of birds and the coolness in the morning.

Meal 2: Roll On In shrimp tempura burrito roll with toppings and water

Location: Friend's back patio

I ate my delicious take-out lunch on my friend's back patio. Instead of eating at the restaurant, we decided to carry the food to his house so that I would be able to eat outside. The table and chairs were dirty from sitting unused all winter, but we still had a great time. His dog was happy to chill outside at the table as we ate. At one point I had to ask him to go inside to get me a spoon since the meal was a bit messy. Immediately after the meal we went inside because it was getting exceptionally hot. Eating outside somehow makes meals more of an occasion, and people want to join.

Meal 3: Sandwich and campfire

Location: Friend's back yard

I had plans with friends this evening so I quickly assembled a ham and cheese sandwich at home. I brought it to my friend's house and soon went outside to their backyard to eat my sandwich. Right away, without my asking, people joined me outside and we moved our conversation into nature instead of sitting in the house. We had our planned bonfire and all ate together around it. My first day of eating outside has been very social and makes meal times more memorable.
