Rituals Series

This semester my Industrial Design Studio course is based on Ritual, with a final goal of creating a series of 3 products that work together to help form new good habits or change habitual experiences. As a research exercise, I will be changing and forming 3 new habits (or rituals) over the next few weeks.

Week 1: Eating Outside

I will eat all of my meals outside, regardless of the weather. I will eat in a variety of locations, with a variety of meals.

Week 2: Spicing Food

Every time I cook, I will add 3 spices to my meal. Without necessarily looking up recipes, I will choose my spices and their quantity based on smell and taste. I will limit myself to not re-using the same spice more than two times in the week.

Week 3: Vision

Everyday I will close my eyes for at least 10 minutes and try to experience a different form of vision using my senses of touch, smell, taste, direction, and memory.

My experience with each of these rituals will be recorded daily on this blog.
