Meal 1: Toast with avocados

Location: Wall outside of DAAP

I got a little thrown off schedule this morning because I decided to make my own curry for lunch. I quickly assembled toast with avocados and ate it on the way to DAAP and finished up outside before I went in.

Meal 2: Rice, vegetables, and curry sauce

Location: Friend's front porch

Spices: Curry powder, cumin, paprika, and turmeric

I used my favorite curry recipe to make a sauce for the rice and vegetables I had fried together a couple days ago. I used real garlic and minced ginger to avoid using up these flavors in dry spice form since I can't use the same dry spice more than twice this week. The meal was good but I think I didn't add enough tomato to the sauce, and then not enough sauce to my rice. Again, my eating schedule was dictated by a heavy rain. I was able to find a dry spot to sit and eat on the floor of my friend's porch. My friends and their dog came outside to sit with me.

Final Thoughts: Overall it's been a good experience and I think I will eat outside more often to de-stress, take some time away from electronics, and make my meals more of a social occasion. Taking my meal out was sometimes pretty inconvenient, and I had to defy the rule once to eat at all because of my schedule. Still, I could see this exercise turning into more of a ritual given better outdoor eating accommodations.
